The Heat’s win over the Hornets last night was noteworthy for two reasons:

1. Dwyane Wade looked like vintage Flash, almost single-handedly fueling Miami down the stretch as the Heat knotted the series, 3-3.

2. After Wade hit a game-sealing turnaround jumper, he got into an awkward little altercation with a Hornets fan who became known on Twitter as “Purple Shirt Guy.” Fast-forward to :25 to watch him exchange words with the fan:

Their feud didn't end there.

Well, Purple Shirt Guy was interviewed by The Charlotte Observer, and he had some things to say. The fan, 43-year-old Michael Deason, says he has a long-standing rivalry with the Heat.

“Those guys, they don’t like me,” he said. “The coach (Erik Spoelstra) doesn’t like me, the players get in trouble if they talk to me, (Heat guard) Gerald Green he tries his best not to talk to me and every time he does they ream him a new one. So when the Heat come to town, I try to step it up a little bit more.”

Deason has been a season-ticker holder for seven years, but he says he's not planning to renew his season tickets because of the expense and because he doesn't think the Hornets organization appreciates his efforts.

Here’s Hassan Whiteside getting Mutombo’d by a Heat PR staffer right before it appears he was about to rant about Purple Shirt Guy:

Journalists had differing opinions on the fan.

Purple Shirt Guy needs to spring for courtside seats to Game 7. There is no other reasonable end game.

Just a feeling but I don't think Purple Shirt Guy should make the trip to Miami on Sunday. pic.twitter.com/oR7EqnrzIx

This guy has been known in Charlotte for a while. Check out this video of Deason getting into it with Kevin Durant in January.

As to whether Deason would consider making the trip to Miami for Sunday's Game Seven? Well...

“If someone bought me a trip down, and bought me a courtside ticket?" Deason told The Observer. "I might show up. I don’t know if the Hornets would want me there, but...”
