Before they dropped the puck for their first round playoff game against the Dallas Stars, the Minnesota Wild put on a tribute for their hometown legend Prince following the news of his unexpected death this past week. NBC was able to air a moment of silence for the late icon, but was unable to show the extended version of the tribute before the arena went quiet. Fortunately some people on Twitter didn't have to worry about contractual obligations and (thus) were able to post what went on inside the arena before TV cameras started broadcasting:

It all followed what they did earlier in the day, which was change their seating patterns and spell his name out with pucks (hey, they still got to tie it to hockey somehow):

The team will also play "Let's Go Crazy" after every goal scored by the Wild today:

RIP.
