Jared Goff may have gone No. 1 overall at the 2016 NFL Draft, and Ezekiel Elliott may have stolen the show on draft night by wearing a ridiculous crop top (is anyone actually going to wear the Zeke crop tops the Cowboys are selling?). But c'mon: The real star of this year’s draft was, without a doubt, Annie Apple.

Apple, the mother of the Giants' No. 10 overall pick Eli Apple, called out all the “thirsty” girls DMing draft prospects shortly after her son was picked. Then, she wrote an excellent piece for Sports Illustrated that featured her explaining why she wouldn’t let Eli wear a Rolex or any flashy jewelry to the draft. And she even caught the attention of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in her SI piece by complaining about the lack of desserts at the draft:

Later, Annie spent a day making appearances on various ESPN shows during a trip to Bristol, Conn., and as a result of it, she was able to land a gig with ESPN on Monday. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Annie is going to be a regular contributor on Sunday NFL Countdown during the 2016-17 NFL season:

Annie celebrated the news on Twitter by making a Kardashian joke:

She also thanked ESPN producer Seth Markman for the opportunity, revealed ESPN didn’t just hire her "cuz I’m cute,' and also called her new job "a win for all sports fans, moms & anyone who’s ever fed an athlete" while slipping in a shout-out to His & Hers co-host Jemele Hill:

And once she was done doing all that, she did something that she’s probably going to have to do a lot once she starts making regular TV appearances: deal with trolls. She proved she’s more than up for the challenge, too, by dealing with a few of them who spouted off and threw shade at her following the ESPN announcement:

Unfortunately for Annie, there will be plenty more of those kinds of messages coming in the future. But how can you hate on what this woman has already accomplished in such a short amount of time?
