At this point, you’ve probably seen the confrontation that Draymond Green and LeBron James got into during Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals dozens of times, especially now that Green has been suspended for his role in it. During the confrontation, LeBron stepped over Green and Green responded by tapping him in the groin before the two exchanged words and had to be separated by their teammates:
But do you know what made LeBron so mad? It wasn't actually the groin tap. Immediately after the game ended, ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported that LeBron had gotten so upset towards the end of the confrontation because Green had called him “the B-word”:
Broussard’s fellow ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin backed up that report by confirming it on his own:
And now comes the news that Green reportedly called LeBron a “bitch” not once but twice during their confrontation. According to a report released Monday morning by The Undefeated reporter Marc Spears, Green called LeBron a “bitch” once—and then did it again after LeBron told him that he’s “the father of three kids and a man”:
As Spears pointed out, it’s not the first time a player has attacked LeBron with, as Broussard said, “the B-word”:
That actually wasn’t the first time that an NBA player described James that way. During Game 3 of the 2015 NBA Eastern Conference semifinals, James dunked hard on Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah and had words and a stare for him afterward. Noah responded, “[Expletive] you. You still a b—-.
Game 5 of the Finals will take place in Oakland, Calif. on Monday night. Green won’t be allowed to play in it, but it should be one hell of a game considering all of the fallout from Game 4.
