Aaron Hernandez may be on trial facing two counts of murder and weapons charges stemming from the July 2012 shootings of Daniel de Abreu, and Safiro Furtado, but the former New England Patriots tight end was still able to crack a smile in court on Tuesday.

Back in June, Hernandez decided to switch things up and hire a new defense team for his double homicide case, going with Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez. On Tuesday, the hearing started off with the attorneys introducing themselves, and who they were representing. When Baez stood up, he referred to his client as "Aaron Rodriguez." After giving his attorney a little bit of the side-eye, Aaron leaned in to inform his lawyer of the slip-up.

After exchanging a few words, the two can be seen cracking a very noticeable smile. In the distance, you can see another member of his legal team, Linda Kenney Baden, looking at them, wondering what in the hell could be so funny at a time like this one. Apparently, when you're already going to be behind bars for the rest of your life after being found guilty of first-degree murder of former friend Odin Lloyd, how is smiling in court going to hurt you, right? From conning correctional officers into giving him extra sandwiches to reportedly getting involved in a gang-related fight in jail, Hernandez has been far from an exemplary prisoner since receiving a life sentence.

Judge Jeffrey Locke has set the trial date for the 2012 double murder for Feb. 13, 2017.
