Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor Continue to Tease Fight That's (Probably) Never Going to Happen

Both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor continue to talk about a fight between them that’s probably never going to happen.

The idea of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor taking part in a fight against one another is just as laughable today as it was back in May when The Sunfirst reported that it might happen. And as recently as just last week, Mayweather said that he had moved on from entertaining the thought of fighting McGregor. But despite all of that, both Mayweather and McGregor continue to hype up the possibility of the fight, even though it’s unlikely to ever happen.

On Wednesday, TMZ Sports caught up with both Mayweather and McGregor, and they both spoke on the possibility of the fight taking place. TMZ Sports tracked down Mayweather first and he suggested that, for the right price, he would be down to fight McGregor:

"I’m loving retirement," he said, "but for a couple more bucks, you just don’t know…Everyone keeps asking me, 'Are we going to fight?' And I just don’t know."

And later on in the day, TMZ Sports also found McGregor and asked him about fighting Mayweather. He didn’t discount it, either, and said he would be willing to fight him:

"I told you," he said during a brief interaction with a TMZ Sports cameraman. "I’m ready for that fight!"

McGregor also talked about fighting Mayweather during his explosive UFC 205 press conference on Tuesday.

We’re still super skeptical about this fight. But if nothing else, the rumors surrounding it clearly have legs. It’s been almost four months now since the initial report about the fight, and people are still talking about it, so…maybe it’s not so crazy after all?
