See original story below.

What better time is it than Week 1β€”on the very first Sunday of the NFL season, mind youβ€” for fantasy football participants to not be able to access ESPN's Fantasy Football app due to technical difficulties?

For some reason, the app has been having major malfunctions, and participants have been trying to log onto it all afternoon with little to no success since today's kickoff at 1 p.m. ET.

ESPN acknowledged that their app is down in a series of tweets beginning around 2 p.m. ET.

We are aware of the current technical difficulties. We apologize for the inconvenience & are working to resolve the issue ASAP.

Around 4 p.m. ET, the app's trouble persisted. ESPN was trying to figure it out, but couldn't for the life of them:

We continue to work hard to resolve today’s technical issues. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

People have waited all summer to gain bragging rights and emerge as leaders amongst their friends and office colleagues with their drafted NFL fantasy teams. But since they can't track their stats via the ESPN Fantasy Football app that everyone and their mother uses, best believe that the internet is going to make somebody pay for this technological blunder.

Twitter is having a field day with much vitriol targeting ESPN. If you use the app and feel angry right now, just remember like Michael Jackson once said, you are not alone. Here are some Twitter reactions that reflect their fantasy football lives are currently in shambles courtesy of The Worldwide Leader in Sports.
