In the days leading up to the Cardinals season-opening game against the Patriots on Sunday night, Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer had a lot to say about Tom Brady. While speaking with the New England media, Palmer suggested that Brady got what he deserved when the NFL suspended him for four games following the Deflategate scandal.

"I tried not to follow it just because it was everywhere for so long," Palmer said, "but I go back and…you follow what the rule book says and go about your business and your work and if they tell you not to do it and you get busted and what happens happens, then you suffer the consequences."

What Palmer said wasn’t exactly the worst thing in the world, but many Patriots fans took it as Palmer throwing shade in Brady’s direction. So after the Patriots—a nine-point underdog heading into the game—upset the Cardinals 23-21 behind a strong performance from Brady’s backup Jimmy Garoppolo, there were quite a few people who were more than happy to remind Palmer about what he said on Twitter. Here is how Patriots fans reacted to Palmer and Arizona taking an L:

The Patriots are now 1-0 without Brady and will play home games against the Dolphins, Texans, and Bills before Brady returns in Week 5 to face the Browns.
