There have been rumblings all week that the Seahawks planned to support Colin Kaepernick’s protest in some way before their game against the Dolphins on Sunday. It’s been clear from the start that the Seattle roster wanted to do it together—not as individuals.
Earlier this week, Doug Baldwin said the Seahawks would hold a “pregame demonstration of unity.”
To express a desire to bring people together, our team will honor the country and flag in a pregame demonstration of unity.
Today we learned exactly what that demonstration will be. Baldwin posted a video that outlines their plan.
"We are a team comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds, and as a team, we have chosen to stand and interlock arms in unity," Baldwin said in the video. "We honor those who have fought for the freedom we cherish. And we stand to ensure the riches of freedom and the security of justice for all people. Progress can and will be made only if we stand together."

“We are linking arms & standing to Stand Up for Social Justice, Love, & Peace for All,” quarterback Russell Wilson wrote on Instagram.
Denver linebacker Brandon Marshall, a college teammate of Kaepernick, took a knee during the NFL kickoff game Thursday.
"These are young men that are trying to figure out the world themselves, too, and they want to try and make sense of how they can have impact and how they can affect others," said Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, according to ESPN. "I just couldn't be more proud of the way they've gone through it and really what has happened through the process. And then we'll see on the weekend that they're going to do a very, very good thing."
Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat during last week’s preseason game against the Raiders. He has previously said he plans to continue to sit in the regular season.
