Most college professors don’t get into the habit of excusing students for being absent from class. But one Ohio University professor made an exception on Wednesday after finding out why one of his students decided to cut out of his class early.

Indians fan Charles Turner did show up at his class on Tuesday in order to check in so that he would receive attendance points. However, towards the end of class, his professor R. Damian Nance took attendance again and later realized that Turner had left early. The professor then wrote Turner an email asking for an explanation as to why he had cut class before it ended and reminded him that there is a "zero tolerance" policy in place when it comes to attendance.

Turner didn’t even bother trying to come up with an excuse. Instead, he sent the professor back a photo of him at Game 1 of the World Series and explained that he was ready to deal with the consequences of cutting class if need be. And while some professors would have been like, "Hope you had fun, ‘cause you’re about to flunk my class," this particular professor saw that as an "impeccable excuse" and added "Go Tribe!" in his response to Turner. Here is the entire back-and-forth email exchange:

Shout out to college professors who get it. This one could have very easily disciplined his student for the way he went about skipping his class, but he didn't. Good for him.
