In rare NFL news unrelated to domestic violence or recurring national anthem protests,  Jets wideout Brandon Marshall played NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a game of ping pong. The match was part of a tournament for charity held Tuesday to “raise funds and awareness for PROJECT 375, an organization which works to eradicate the stigma surrounding mental health and promotes early intervention and prevention of mental health disorders in children and adolescents.”

USA Today's For the Win posted a video clip of Goodell facing off against Marshall, and the Jets star got destroyed by the NFL's top boss. Yes, this was all in good fun for charity. But if you believe that a 57-year-old man wouldn't have a chance to win playing ping pong against an 32-year-old guy who gets paid millions of dollars for his lighting quick hand-eye coordination skills, you're not alone.

So Marshall has to live with being sonned by his employer, and there's no telling when he can get a rematch. Believe it or not, table tennis (the preferred name amongst serious players) is a highly respected sport. If you watched players from across the globe compete at the Rio Olympics (or have ever watched Forrest Gump), you can understand ping pong is really nothing to scoff at. So if you ever find yourself in a high-stakes match, play to win and don't allow yourself to be embarrassed like Brandon.
