Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan made a great decision to attend Wednesday's epic World Series Game 7 between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs in Cleveland. He followed that up, however, with a terrible decision: Ryan left the game early.

Ryan missed the wild, extra-inning finish, and the ensuing mayhem after the Cubs claimed their first championship in 108 years.

“I hate to admit it. I hate to admit it,” Ryan told reporters Friday. “We had to [leave]. We had to get back to work. We got to get back to work."

Ryan said he left during the rain delay after the ninth inning. How, Sway?!

"We have the rain delay, and I’m like, ‘You gotta be kidding,’" Ryan said. "And when you look at it, it’s like, ‘Alright, when’s it gonna pass?’ I’ll be honest, I wanted to stay, but I’m like, ‘If this thing’s in a delay for a couple hours, there’s no way. We gotta get back.’ The thing that was funny, we leave. We were in the bleachers, and we slide out. I’m like, ‘God, we gotta go.’ As we go, I hear that, ‘Hey, it’s clear that the rain stopped.’ But by then, we’re like, ‘Nah, we’re heading out.’ It was disappointing.”

Rex, Rex, Rex. We're really questioning your judgment right now.

Buffalo and Cleveland are about 190 miles apart, so you can make the drive in a little over 3 hours. It seems weird to travel to the game and then head back over a rain delay that lasted about 30 minutes.

Naturally, at least one reporter questioned whether Ryan should be making the mid-week trip in the first place, considering it wasn't the Bills' bye week.

Rex took several Bills staffers to World Series Game 7 Wed. nite. Cool. Question: Would Belichick do that with Seattle up next? Just sayin

He might have a valid point. Then again, Rex is gonna be Rex.
