As you've probably heard by now, Monday Night Football is headed to Mexico this week. On Monday night, the 7-2 Raiders will take on the 6-3 Texans in the first NFL game in Mexico in more than a decade. The game, which will be played at Estadio Azteca, is going to be a big deal, too, and not just because it could have playoff implications. It sold out all the way back in July, so it's clear that there is a lot of excitement surrounding the game.
To generate additional hype for the game, the NFL asked a bunch of Mexican artists to reimagine all 32 NFL team helmets and offer up their own takes on them. The results—which you can see in the clip above—are pretty incredible. Some of the them are literal takes on NFL team names and logos, while others don't seem to have a whole lot to do with the teams at all (it's hard to tell which teams are represented on several of the helmets). But they are all really intricate and beautiful and put a local spin on an international product. The artists clearly spent a lot of time thinking about the helmets before they tackled them and made them their own.
As we said, you can check out the reimagined helmets in the clip above, but you can also head over to the NFL's Facebook page to get a better look at all 32 helmets. It will be interesting to see what else the NFL has in store when the Raiders and Texans kick off on Monday night.
