We've heard of curfews, but a sex curfew? In a new interview with the French paper L'Equipe du Soir, Samir Nasri, who briefly played for Manchester City before getting sent out on loan to Sevilla, reveals that City manager Pep Guardiola would put certain limitations on his players' sexual activity by telling them to get it on before midnight, whether they had a match the next day or not. "For him, his players’ sexual activity must take place before midnight in order to get a good night sleep—even if they are free tomorrow," Nasri said, according to Metro UK.
While it's hard to argue over the importance of a good night's sleep, Guardiola has a history of meddling into his players' personal lives. Another one of his former players, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, spoke out about how Pep would forbid his players from driving certain cars during his time with Barcelona. "At Barca, players were banned from driving their sports cars to training," Ibrahimovic said, perSky Sports. "I thought this was ridiculous—it was no one's business what car I drive—so in April, before a match with Almeria, I drove my Ferrari Enzo to work. It caused a scene."
Of course, it's difficult to argue with Guardiola about his curfew on amorous activities, given his track record with soccer superstars. "He told us this is how he managed to get the best out of Messi and [Robert] Lewandowski, and for them to avoid the maximum number of muscular injuries," Nasri said.
