Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski has finally decided to suspend All-American guard Grayson Allen indefinitely after he tripped yet another opposing player on purpose during a game. The most recent incident occurred during Duke's game against Elon on Wednesday night when Allen tripped Elon's Steven Santa Ana.

Grayson Allen got a tech for blatantly tripping someone and then this was his reaction on the bench. What the hell? https://t.co/Arbeb59Dg6

Allen's trip resulted in a technical foul as well as a bit of a meltdown on Duke's bench.

Shortly after it happened, Allen was strongly criticized by both Seth Greenberg and former Dukie Jay Williams:

Coach K's decision to indefinitely suspend Allen comes just hours after he defiantly refused to exact a punishment based upon public outrage. "We have had the opportunity to thoroughly review the incident involving Grayson Allen from last night’s game against Elon. As I stated last night, the incident was unacceptable and inexcusable," the coach said in a statement. "He took an important step last night by apologizing in person to Steven Santa Ana and Coach Matt Matheny. As a program, we needed to take further steps regarding his actions that do not meet the standards of Duke Basketball. To that end, we have determined that Grayson will be suspended from competition for an indefinite amount of time."

After the game on Wednesday, Allen offered up a tearful apology and said he won't trip any more opponents in the future. But he said the same thing last season when the same thing happened, so a suspension might be exactly what he needs at this point.
