Dwyane Wade wears mink coat for New Years Eve 2016

2016 has come and gone, and now we are firmly in 2017 after one of the most trying years in recent memory. In the sports world, the year was full of surprises, like the Chicago Cubs breaking their 71-year curse and LeBron James bringing Cleveland it's first pro sports title in 52 years. We lost greats like Muhammad Ali in 2016, but here's to hoping 2017 will bring better fortune than the year we just left.

Like many of us, athletes were eager to ring in the new year. While you were watching Mariah Carey drop the proverbial ball, your sports heroes were living it up on the town. Here's how some of your favorite athletes welcomed 2017:

Hard to argue with Kris Bryant on this one.

We are thankful for Russ and we can't wait to see what he's going to do in 2017.

Von Miller is clearly still going to be having fun in 2017.

Say what you want about McGregor, the man stays sharp.

And Kevin Love took a moment to thank the people who helped make him successful last year.
