Former NBA player Stephen Jackson has stories for days. When he appeared on ESPN Radio’s TrueHoop podcast, Jackson revealed that 2 Chainz used to sleep on Jackson's couch before getting his big break, and that Stephon Marbury bought the former NBA journeyman $10,000 worth of new clothes and a new Escalade when Jackson was a rookie with the Nets. Stack also confessed that his former Golden State Warriors head coach Don Nelson jokingly told he and teammate Baron Davis, "We all can smoke now!" after they passed their last drug test of the season.

So, when Jackson stopped by Michael Rapaport's I AM RAPAPORT podcast, you already know that he didn't disappoint. Stack admitted that there were times that he would smoke weed before games. “I can’t speak for nobody else,” he said. “Me personally, I’ve done a lot of shit before games sometimes and still was out there to go out there and be productive. I just gotta be real, you know, it’s been a couple games where I smoked before games and had great games. It’s been some games where I smoked before the game and was on the bench after three minutes, sitting on the sideline, saying, ‘Please calm down, this high has to calm down.’ I done shot three shots that went over the backboard.”

Since Jackson knew that the only drug test would be administered in training camp, he would make sure to pass it, and smoke the rest of the season. Stack sees it as the players' "best way to relax" amid a pretty hectic and agonizing schedule. “You take so much stuff to get up for the games, and guys don’t like taking all those pills and stuff to heal," he said. "Go home, smoke your blunt, man. You’ll sleep good."
