On Thursday, while speaking on ESPN radio to co-hosts Marcellus Wiley and Kelvin Washington, Magic Johnson made a bizarre (but maybe fair) comparison when he put LaVar Ball in the same league as Kris Jenner. We think know he actually meant it as a compliment. Though you'd be forgiven for not immediately jumping to that conclusion.

"The Kardashians, we didn't say the mom was bad. She made them a lot of money, right? She bragged on her daughters. And I think it's the same here. He's saying, 'Hey, my son is great,'" Magic said. "There's nothing bad with that. We're [the Lakers] not looking at LaVar being a problem if we're blessed to have an opportunity to draft Lonzo."

He then did that thing that pretty much everyone does where he praised LaVar for being involved in his children's life.

In case it wasn't clear, Johnson was speaking about the very real possibility of Los Angeles drafting Lonzo Ball with the No. 2 overall pick in next month's NBA Draft. Earlier this week the team's coach, Luke Walton, said LaVar's over-the-top persona won't scare him off because his own dad was kind of a goofball too.

As they say, careful what you wish for.
