If you've been able to stomach the Toronto Blue Jays this season, you'll understand that the team doesn't have much to smile about lately. An abysmal record throughout their first ten games placed the Jays right at the bottom of the MLB standings, and suddenly, things weren't looking so hot for the boys in blue. Armed with considerable talent, fans everywhere crossed their fingers and continued to show their support for Canada's team.

Thankfully, a much-needed winning streak this week has reignited the lowly squad. Toronto has now won their first back-to-back matchups and even extended the run to three last night, trouncing the New York Yankees by a score of 7-1. For fans, the victory was a huge sigh of relief and a hopeful sign of the turning tide.

Despite the recent win, the Jays are far from a prime position in the AL East, but that isn't going to stop John Gibbons from having a bit of fun. Following last night's victory, the club manager decided to laugh in the face of his detractors by calling into a local sports radio show. The target of the prank was Jays Talk host Mike Wilner, who had questioned the skipper's Monday rotation.

Gibbons phoned the popular Sportsnet 590 show and took some subtle jabs at the expense of its opinionated radio commentator. “I thought that Maile did a great job," Gibbons said while holding in a laugh. "You know I heard you before the game and what an expert you are man, I’m glad you were wrong once again." According to Wilner, the Jays manager has been threatening to call into the local show for years now.

That was phenomenal. Gibby has been threatening to call #Bluejays Talk for years. Very happy that he finally did. https://t.co/MxVF22mytx
