Sources Say Atlanta Hawks Have Traded Dwight Howard to Charlotte Hornets

Dwight Howard has reportedly been traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Marco Belinelli and Miles Plumlee.

It looks like there will be a major change to the Atlanta Hawks’ and Charlotte Hornets’ lineups.

On Tuesday night, several sports journalists said the received confirmation that the Hawks traded center Dwight Howard to the Hornets. The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski and the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore reported the Hawks would receive Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli, and the 41st pick in Thursday’s NBA draft in exchange for Howard and the 31st pick. 

Can confirm report of Dwight Howard trade to Hornets. Appears to be for Plumlee, Belinelli and second-round pick.

Prior to the reports, 31-year-old Howard sent out a tweet asking for his fans’ opinions regarding trades.

The Hawks inked a three-year, $70.5 million deal with Howard in the summer of 2016. The Atlanta native averaged 13.5 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 74 games last season.
