Last Wednesday, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor announced they had finally come to terms and agreed to fight one another after months of speculation surrounding the possibility of a fight between the two. But it seems they still have one hurdle to overcome before the fight can take place—and it’s kind of a big one, all things considered.

The Mayweather/McGregor bout is scheduled to take place on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. But according to reports, Ice Cube already booked the arena for that same night for the BIG3 championship game. The BIG3 is Cube’s new 3-on-3 professional basketball league featuring a slew of former NBA stars, and Aug. 26 was supposed to be the culmination of the league’s first full season.

No worries, though, as it sounds like Cube is willing to come up off of that specific date and find a different venue for his event. But before he does, he wants Mayweather Promotions to do the right thing and pay him for his troubles. Reports indicate he’ll probably be able to hold the event at the nearby MGM Grand Garden Arena on the same night, but he’s not going to give up T-Mobile Arena without being compensated for it. He appeared on Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed on Monday morning and spoke about the situation.

"Yes, of course," Cube said when he was asked if he’d be willing to move the BIG3 title game somewhere else so that Mayweather and McGregor can fight. "If they do what they supposed to do and make us happy, yeah, we’ll move. We talking about it. I think we’re going to get there."

This latest wrinkle in the ongoing Mayweather/McGregor saga shouldn’t affect the fight at all. But it will, in all likelihood, give Cube and his league some more cash for them to use during their inaugural season. It should also make for a pretty crazy scene in August when both the Mayweather/McGregor fight and the BIG3 title game take place in Vegas at around the same time. Stay tuned to see how Cube manages to capitalize off the fight before it even takes place.
