Kristaps Porzingis Talks Off-season and Obsession with the Game

We caught up with Kristaps Porzingis to talk his offseason routine.

The NBA off-season rolls on with the draft now in the books. For the New York Knicks, and mainly their fans, this off-season has been a rollercoaster of emotion. The Carmelo Anthony trade rumors have seemingly died down, but to take their place team president Phil Jackson decided to announce only days before the draft that he was open to trading Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks's most popular player among fans who consider him the future of the franchise.

Now the Knicks have drafted the young Frenchman, Frank Ntilikina, who at 18 years old has plenty of room to grow. Jackson believes his size, athleticism, and ability to mesh with his teammates will help him excel with the Knicks, who seem destined to play more in the triangle offense next season. Knicks fans are simply hoping for some stability at this point, unsure of Ntilikina's potential and who exactly will be on the team next year. Melo still holds the power over Jackson because of his no-trade clause, but fans will be anxious to see if the relationship between Jackson and Porzingis is irreperable, and if the Latvian giant can continue to grow in New York.

Our own Russ Bengston got to sit down with Porzingis shortly after the regular season ended to find out what Porzingis would be up to during the off-season. Porzingis shared a lot about himself, from his favorite artist to listen to before the game, his relationship with Melo, his secret to getting those ridiculous putback dunks, and how he's obsessed with basketball.
