With the 2017 NBA Draft just two days away, LaVar Ball is still very confident that when NBA commissioner Adam Silver comes to the podium to announce the Los Angeles Lakers' No. 2 overall pick, he will hear his son's name. When TMZ Sports caught up with LaVar on Monday as he walked around New York City in search of food, Ball was adamant that the Lakers will select Lonzo, saying, "Everybody knows he's going to be a Laker."

LaVar has been speaking the idea of Lonzo joining the Lakers into existence for quite some time now. However, a report that the former UCLA point guard failed to "blow the Lakers away or seal any deal" during his two-day visit with the organization may have thrown a wrench in those plans. ESPN's Ramona Shelburne even indicated that Ball was "considering talking" with other teams besides the Lakers following a second workout with the franchise this past Friday.

While LaVar shouldn't feel so confident about his son's likelihood of joining the Lakers, Lonzo's closest competition for that No. 2 pick, Kansas's Josh Jackson, may have been even worse in his workout with the team.

Also was told that Josh Jackson's workout in LA "did not go well at all." Brought high energy but struggled with his shooting and handle.

The Lakers could just be throwing up smokescreens left and right to divert everyone from their real intention. Luckily, the wait is almost over and we will finally get our answer to who the Lakers will select on Thursday.
