Pro MMA Fighter Aaron Rajman Killed During Home Invasion in Florida

Aaron Rajman, 25, was shot and killed after a group of men entered a home in Boca Raton, Florida on Monday night.

A mixed martial arts fighter was murdered during a home invasion Monday night in Florida. Aaron Rajman was shot and killed inside a home in Boca Raton after a group of men entered the residence for unknown reasons, CBS Miamireported. Rajman was 25.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said that a fight erupted after the men entered the home Monday, at which point "shots were fired and Rajman was struck." Rajman died the next day. The suspects, who have not been identified, fled the scene in a car "in an unknown direction." The death is under investigation.

"I'm just literally at a loss for words," Dave Zalewski, a Miami-area fight promoter, told the Sun-Sentinel of his friend's death. "Everyone I talked to is sickened. He was the most humble guy around, he never talked bad about people." The fatal home invasion reportedly occurred shortly after neighborhood families—including children—were setting off fireworks in the street. One woman told reporters that her children were in front of the residence where Rajman was killed. Rajman, she said, wished them a happy Independence Day.

Rajman had trained with American Top Team since the age of 16. His professional MMA debut was in 2014. According to stats from MixedMartialArts.com, Rajman's win-loss record as an amateur was 8-1. Prior to going pro, Rajman won multiple amateur titles. Rajman's opponents in professional matches included Rusty Crowder, Anthony Retic, Matthew Tran, and Luis Raul Gomez Alvarez.
