According to the AFP, Hedi Slimane will be taking over as Creative Director for Yves Saint Laurent, relieving Stefano Pilati. Slimane is most known for his tenure at Dior Homme, where the designer pushed the label to the forefront due to his razor-sharp, skinny suits and jeans from 2000-2007. Kris Van Assche took over Dior Homme in 2007, and for a while Slimane returned to photography.

It's been quite an interesting week for fashion houses, what with Raf Simons leaving Jil Sander after debuting a fantastic final collection, only to hear that Jil Sander will be returning to helm her namesake brand. [Huffington Post]
