Love him or hate him Zach Braff knows how to design and decorate and apartment. Originally owned by Broadway director Tom O’Horgan, this Union Square co-op apartment was a dream come true to a theater geek like Braff. With the help of architect Michael Davis, Braff had the entire 2,600 sq/ft apartment gutted, knocking down interior walls and starting renovations from scratch. The rustic materials used in the renovations were sourced from across the country – wood from old barns, doors from freight elevators, and old bricks and tiles to finish the walls and floors. Braff’s dream of “a cozy barn in upstate New York…floating above the city” has certainly been realized. This rural-meets-urban motif is definitely one of the best apartments we’ve seen in NYC.
