The New York City Ballet is no stranger to collaborations with emerging artists. Over the company's history, it has worked with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol. The latest merger of visual and performance art is a continuation of tradition, a partnership with Brooklyn-based street artists FAILE.
This year, the New York City Ballet is launching the NYCB Art Series, a program of contemporary art commissions inspired by the unique energy of dance. FAILE's work will kick-off the campaign with public exhibition during special performance evenings—tickets priced at just $29 include a limited-edition work of art—on February 1 and May 29.
