Hurricane Sandy affected many on the East Coast of the United States in late October 2012. As such, it makes sense that people would be alarmed by Storm Troupers: Celebrating Hurricane Sandy's First Responders, one of Vogue's latest spreads photographed by Annie Leibovitz. While it's meant to celebrate those who fought to improve things during and after the storm, some argue that it appears to glamorize an all-too-recent catastrophe.
Models Karlie Kloss, Kasia Struss, and Chanel Iman appear alongside the National Guard's 69th Infantry and others who helped speed up recovery post-hurricane. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the images, their timing, and their substance, Vogue says they've currently given over $1.7 million USD towards relief efforts.
