Director John Kahrs explores this phenomenon with an Oscar nominated short film entitled Paperman that uses a new film technique that seamlessly combines computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques. It brings two-dimensional drawings into the updated 3D world. Created by a small innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, the black-and-white film is captivating both in its plot and in its revolutionary construction.
