There are a handful of moments in our lives when we encounter strangers who we cannot deny a happenstance connection with. They disappear and you're left with the question: will I ever encounter him/her again? Director John Kahrs explores this phenomenon with an Oscar nominated short film entitled Paperman that uses a new film technique that seamlessly combines computer-generated and hand-drawn animation techniques. It brings two-dimensional drawings into the updated 3D world. Created by a small innovative team working at Walt Disney Animation Studios, the black-and-white film is captivating both in its plot and in its revolutionary construction.
