Los Angeles' Paramount Studios is in for a treat later this week, and we're not talking about filming movies. BMW is bringing back the Andy Warhol M1 Art Car from 1979 for the first ever Paris Photo photography fair in LA. Originally raced in Le Mans, the car purposefully has blurred colors and contours to reflect a "depiction of speed" on the part of Warhol.

The 17 exhibits created for the Art Car Collection, shown from the Guggenheim to the Louvre, have included works by well-known artists such as Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, David Hockney, Jenny Holzer, Olafur Eliasson, and Jeff Koons. Bringing back the Warhol car is a perfect homage to the lineage of car renditions, and BMW will also be providing burlesque style photos with the 6 Series Gran Coupe by German photographer Uwe Düttmann. As they have in the past, BMW will also be providing the official shuttle service to and from the fair.

Lastly, in 2014, the overall yearly theme of the BMW Museum will be “Photography," showing their commitment to the genre beyond their support of Paris Photo. Buy a day pass and peruse the programming on Paris Photo's website.
