Canadian-based HAVEN has been spending some time in Tokyo interviewing founders of the many brands it admires. The latest in the series catches up with Deluxe Clothing founder Hideke “Hue” Himora. Like plenty of Japanese designers, he is influenced a lot by American styles from different eras. From '50s Irish Gangs to '80s hip-hop styles, he pours through plenty of books or references his experiences of living in multi-cultural cities like New York into his designs.
