SFMOMA Displays the Influential Ideas of Lebbeus Woods in New Exhibition

The collection showcases spatially creative architecture.

SFMOMA presents "Lebbeus Woods, Architect" in a partial retrospective exhibition showcasing the artist's works from 1975 until his death in the fall of 2012. The 175 pieces of work on display include drawings, models, and writings that express the architect's creative modes of conceptualizing about space and the interaction among small parts that constitute the whole. While drawings from the series "Centricity" may resemble scenes from a science fiction movie, his models are intricate structures that present familiar but foreign shapes. Prior to his death, Woods participated in organizing the exhibition that is now on display until June 2, 2013.
