Bruce Lee's physique, philosophies on life, and iconic roles made him a global star in the 1960s and 70s. 40 years after his death, Lee is still considered to be one of the greatest martial arts experts of all time. It's hard to believe that it took this long, but there is finally going to be a statue in his honor in California where he was born, the first of its kind in the United States.

This seven-foot tall bronze statue of Lee was unveiled in Central Plaza this weekend as a part of the Chinatown Summer Nights celebration, and portrays the "Dragon" with a pair of nunchaku in a defensive pose. The larger-than-life sculpture (Lee was barely five-foot seven) was made by an artist in Guangzhou, China and donated by the Bruce Lee Foundation. The statue still needs a base, but it will find a permanent home soon in Los Angeles.
