Street art does not only have to involve graffiti, and Brad Downey's work for "Public Art Horsens" in Denmark is an example of how artists can be creative in using public space. Downey's works include the displacement and replacement of random square blocks on sidewalks and a parking lot, fortresses made of cans, and unexpected items from a construction crane (including the artist himself). Although he does not draw on any surfaces, he creates street art by playing with the various components that make up public space. The American artist's work achieves an effect of paradox, entertainment, and realization, as the world is exposed to unexpected appearances and uncanny changes in the environment.
