Alexandr Komarov, an avid camera collector from the Ukraine, is facing legal trouble for his harmless habits. Komarov was arrested recently for owning two Ajax-12 Soviet spy cameras. The cameras are vintage, but apparently the law doesn't differentiate between new or old, which means that Komarov could spend up to 7 years behind bars. Camera enthusiasts on the web have been giving Komarov advice and words of encouragement, but they can't stop his hearing next week. We're not sure what the precedent is in the Ukraine, but going to prison for what is essentially a piece of art from the 1950s is ridiculous. It's not too late for Komarov and his friends to start collecting stamps instead.
