Google Street View Lets You Explore an Underground Salt Mine Chapel

The Google World Wonders Project is the "street view" platform that we are all accustomed to, times ten. A part of Google's Cultural Institute, the project uses street view cameras and 3D-modeling to give users the ability to explore landmarks and "heritage sites" like the Great Barrier Reef, the Grand Canyon, Florida Southern College (don't ask), and most recently Poland’s Wieliczka Salt Mine

To be more specific, the project explores the underground cathedral within the salt mines. The entire space is carved out of sodium chloride, down to the chandeliers and chapels. Workers have been digging the mines since the 13th century and now there are hard hat tours, exhibitions, and events held underground in various tunnels and chambers.
