An intrepid urban explorer and photographer from New York has ventured out into the world and created photographs of the actual locations named in the classic Monopoly board game.

Nick Carr of Scouting NY, a film-location scouting company, took it upon himself to find the real world locations of the various deeds named around the Monopoly board, photographing each and providing just a little extra context for its existence in the game.

“Whenever I played Monopoly as a kid, I used to love imagining what the game’s city would look like in real life. I remember thinking of Mediterranean and Baltic as being these short, run-down alleys ala West Side Story, while Pennsylvania Ave and the other greens as Fifth Avenue-style apartment buildings,” Carr wrote on his blog.

The game’s properties were named after the streets of Atlantic City, which Carr decided to take a detour through on his way through New Jersey. Check out a few of his snaps above and read about them in greater detail on his site
