Prada recently opened the doors to its first location in Barcelona, and it appears the company had no intention of underwhelming its customers.
The 17,222 square-foot store designed by renowned architect Roberto Baciocchi has drawn interest from design and brand buffs alike. According to Conde Nast Traveler, this location is Prada's largest store in Europe, is made almost entirely out of black marble and mirror, and has been outfitted with rows of palladium and glass cabinets that would make even Karen and Henry Hill jealous. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the manicured lawn in the outdoor area. The entrance looks like the atrium of a 19th century Russian bath house, with columns and a shuttered skylight above. There's also a space in the store dedicated to the brand's Made to Measure project - a service for customers getting products specially tailored.
Prada's ready-to-wear womenswear, menswear, shoes and accessories will be sold at 88 Paseo de Gracia, which is just a few steps away from Gaudi's La Pedrera, along with other luxury stores in the neighborhood like Chanel and Gucci.
