Korean artist and designer Jee Young has been busy creating dream-like sets in which she photographs herself. In her fun-sized studio, 12 x 13 x 8 feet in all, Young constructs fantasy worlds that feature angry birds, massive bugs, Esher-esque interior design, and a last supper for mice. Young’s imagination cannot be contained by her tiny studio. The artist is featured in all her photographs—sometimes only just her hand or a foot peeks out of the incredible background. The photographs make Young seem like a pixie trapped in an alternate universe. The dream worlds are often inspired by literature and other works of art.

Young’s ongoing work “State of Mind” will be displayed at OPIOM Gallery in Opio, France from Feb. 7 to March 7, 2014.
