The 23rd Annual New York Jewish Film Festival kicks off on January 8 and runs through January 23. Organized by The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, this year's festival will feature special programming that honors Saul Bass, the late graphic designer behind some of the most iconic film posters of all time. Bass worked with Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, and Otto Preminger to name a few, and he also created logos for companies including AT&T, United Airlines, and Continental Airlines.
The festival will feature an exhibition of Bass' posters and his title sequences will be shown on a loop for the duration of the events. There will also be a special presentation of the designer's short films on January 16 and a midnight screening of his feature film, Phase IV, on January 18. Tickets are available for the screenings on the NYJFF website.
