In a past interview, Penfield CEO James Barshall mentioned “a focus on lightweight insulation and layers, some beautiful prints on technical fabrics, vivid colors,” was the direction the company was headed in the future. That was near the end of 2012. Well, as promised, the Massachusetts-based outerwear brand is turning it up a notch for spring/summer 2014.

The brand experiments with various types of playful prints that will make you forget about its down-filled outerwear until next season when temps dip again. Paisley, floral, and camo are just some applied to this season’s collection. And since we're still far from the warm temperatures and are nearing rainy season, there are light parkas to hold you down for now.

All in all, the collection is a good mix of outdoor styles, sportswear, and menswear that makes it good for either the trail or the streets.

The collection should be hitting the Penfield website real soon.
