Artist Oscar Tusquets Blancawas buddies with SalvadorDalí until the day he died. In celebration of his friend’s ingenuity, Tusquets Blanca created the Dalí Furniture Collection in 1972. The latest edition to this bizarre enterprise was designed by Tusquets Blanca himself—a taxidermy lamb end table. Inspired by Dalí’s 1942 Interpretation Project for a Stable-Library, the end table really captures the original artistic concept. As depicted in the painting, the stuffed sheep has a drawer emerging from its abdomen and a flat surface suspended to its back which can be used to hold various objects. The limited edition collection includes 20 tables (stuffed by Dalí’s favorite taxidermist Maison-Deyrolle) for a modest price of $50,000 each.
