The first Harry Potter book was published 16 years ago (damn we're old), and now everyone on the planet knows the characters and are familiar with the world that J.K. Rowling created. One name associated with the popular franchise that not a lot of people will recognize, but should, is Cliff Wright. Wright is the illustrator responsible for the second and third book covers in the series, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. According to The Telegraph, the watercolor illustrations are estimated to bring in around $20,000 and $18,750, respectively.

Of course, the illustrations won't hold a candle to the $247,000 that Rowling's annotated first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone went for last year, but 50k can still buy you a lot of Butterbeer. Props to the diehard fan who snags these at Nate D. Sanders this week.
