With his very successful Girl album in stores and his plans to curate a highly anticipated exhibition at Galerie Perrotin by the same name, it looks like 2014 is Pharrell's year. Details of the exhibition are still hitting the Internet, but one thing we learned today is that KAWS will present a new canvas work to be unveiled at the gallery and he is also working with Pharrell on the bottle design for the upcoming "G I R L" fragrance.
Pharrell was an early supporter of KAWS' work and is still one of the biggest collectors of KAWS paintings and sculptures (check out these photos inside his crib). Pharrell commissioned KAWS to design an iced-out charm for a chain back in 2008, sat down with the artist and David Salle to talk art and inspiration in 2012, showed up at his Galerie Perrotin exhibition opening this past November, and is always posting photos of the artist's work on his Instagram.
Pictures of the most recent collaboration have yet to surface online, but we are definitely eager to see what these two creatives can come up with.
