Legendary street photographer Martha Cooper and acclaimed artist ELLE will unite to transform Bushwick's MECKA Gallery into a street art wonderland this Saturday. "Unextinguished" will see ELLE sample images from Cooper's photojournalistic book Street Play. Borrowing Cooper's photographs of New York children playing during the '70s, ELLE has created an impressive set of paper gowns as the centerpieces of the exhibition.

In addition to the large-scale installation, the two artists will plaster the walls of MECKA Gallery with Cooper's famous black and white photos and ELLE's wheatpastes in a performance piece that will be recorded by Dega Films and projected on gallery walls.

The epic show consists of "fire extinguishers filled with Liquitex paint, hazmat suits, pastel rainbows, mannequins, photographs, hand embellished prints, and gold plated wearable sculptures," according to the press release. On view from April 26 until May 10, it brings together two badass women, so be sure to stop by the show.

UPDATE: Here's a dope video of what went down at MECKA Gallery.
