Brooklyn-based menswear store Gentry has assembled an editorial lookbook that highlights its current collection of Needles apparel.
Shot against a shadowy backdrop, the shoot features threads from the brand’s Rebuild sub-line as well as garments from its Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Americana staples like flannel button-ups and Chesterfield coats are accompanied by military-tinged pieces like green fatigue trousers and a Vietnam-inspired wool boonie hat. But like most Americana lines created by Japanese designers, this range added a wrinkle by reconstructing vintage pieces into new, one-of-a-kind items.
The brand’s affinity for layering and oversize fits is still very much prevalent in this range, but the cut-and-sew component is taken to a whole new level with offbeat placement of buttons and pockets. In all, it’s a pretty refreshing interpretation of classic workwear.
