In 2007, Jeff Koons opened an exhibition titled "Hulk Elvis" at Gagosian Gallery in London that he said represented "both Western and Eastern culture, a sense of a guardian, a protector, that at the same time is capable of bringing the house down." Now seven years later, the artist will present an exhibition at Gagosian Gallery in Hong Kong with the same title, but with new and recent sculptures from the series.

"Hulk Elvis" will open on Nov. 6 and run through Dec. 20. When the exhibition first opened in London in 2007, Alastair Sooke of Telegraph praised it as a "splendid body of new work." He described the paintings as being "layered with images and dots and delirious brushwork," adding that "the overall effect is bewildering, but it's also a knock-out."

Also as a reminder, there are only a few days left to see Koons' retrospective at the Whitney Museum. Check out our review here, and mark your calendars for the upcoming Hong Kong exhibition.
