Alexander Wang was heavily influenced by sports and performancewear for his upcoming collection with H&M, but we didn't know the designer meant like this. In a video game-inspired teaser video, set to a trippy Diplo track, soccer star Andy Carroll and Wang's "dream team" of models—Raquel Zimmermann, Joan Smalls, Natasha Poly, and Isabeli Fontana—demonstrate the functionality of the collection.
Wang says he wanted to show the collection in action by "putting our cast in extreme conditions," so models glide through a harsh blizzard on a makeshift snowboard, and flash lightning fast reflexes with equal ease.
Wang and H&M take the video game influence further on the retailer's website where the film becomes interactive. During the video, clickable icons pop-up that allow you to explore what each "character" or model is wearing, and get a closer look at the fabrics of the collection (expect to see a lot of mesh and neoprene).
