Since its launch in 2005, Portland-based eyewear company Shwood has been the chief purveyor of wooden sunglasses. Its unique twist on classic yet contemporary frames has resulted in a growing fan base as well as collaborations with brands like HUF, Pendleton, BEAMS, and Bodega.

This month, the brand introduces its Rx collection, its first collection of optical frames. The range offers eight unisex styles that are made from premium materials, such as acetate, titanium, stone, and, of course, wood.

Just like its previous sunglass releases, the Rx collection continues Shwood’s commitment to locally produced goods, as all prescription orders will be verified and completed by a third-party optometrist in Portland.

Take a look at several designs from the brand’s optical collection below. If you like what you see, you can purchase the frames at Shwood’s new and improved online store.
