You Can Now Spend the Night on a Converted Airplane Hotel on Airbnb

Airbnb is taking the airplane hotel idea to the next level.

The hotels-at-airports trend is pretty much the standard across the world, ranging from traditional to swanky to unusual. Now, Airbnb has contributed to that last category, announcing that they will be partnering with KLM Planes to create the experience of an "aircraft loft" beside the runway at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.

This fully functional commercial jet, featuring two kitchens and eight bathrooms, has been flown around the world nearly 4,000 times. The unique lodging experience comes with everything an apartment or hotel room would have, like master bedrooms, home offices, and a play room for children, complete with Wi-Fi, cool interior décor, and a well-stocked fridge.

The Airbnb airplane does come with a few house rules:

• No flying.

• Don’t use the inflatable emergency slide.

• Smoking is not allowed when the non-smoking sign is on.

• No marshmallow roasting with the jet engines.

• Please water our plants and feed our fish.

• The consumption of alcohol is not allowed.

• Please treat our plane like you treat your own plane.

This concept sounds like a dream vacation, except when real airplanes actually takeoff on the runway right outside your window.
